Atlanta Street Art Project

Introduction
The Atlanta Street Art Project began as a capstone project for me as a Computer Science student but has since become a side project. I worked within a group of five and had a hand in all aspects of the application. The app itself allows users to view street art around them and navigate to it. In addition, users can submit their own photos of art they find on adventures. It can now be found on the Google Play Store. This Behance Project explains my design process as the application was made from inception to implementation.
User Research
To begin with, our team developed personas and identified user stories. We felt that our users would mostly be residents inside the perimeter of Atlanta who are in their early twenties. In addition to personas, we also came up with user stories, including "As a user, I would want to be able to sort art by distance so that I can see the closest street art near me" and "As a visitor from Atlanta, I want to be able to easily navigate to the piece of art from the app so that I don't have to worry about finding directions". With personas and stories in mind, we began producing ideas for the user interface.
Usability Testing
Upon completion of our user research, we converted our ideas to a lo-fidelity prototype. We then conducted five usability tests. From these tests, we were able to identify some issues with the design, such as the layout and process of logging in as well as the usability of the neighborhood screen. With the issues in mind, I individually converted our lo-fidelity prototype into an interactive hi-fidelity prototype with Sketch and InVision.
Following from this prototype and acceptance from people we tested it with, we had a solid foundation to begin implementation.
