Abstraction- for Aldous Huxley

Aldous Huxley was one of the most prominent philosophers and futurist who wrote on topics pertaining to technology and it’s effects on society. Some of which have also come true. He also spoke openly about culture, drugs and other tabooed topics avoided in the main stream media. This piece represents Huxley himself as being an abstract person. His book covers were also a great source of inspiration.

Using the pen tool to illustrate all parts
Using the pen tool to illustrate all parts. Also considered contrast between foreground and background shapes.
Used a pressure sensitive brush to illustrate the bottom right contour.
Used a number of textures that I created during my foundation course in Design. Clip masked them to the face and changed levels/ blending modes in Photoshop
As the last step I added a vintage background and added quotes from Aldous Huxley's famous books. Added a mask layer to give it more authencity.
