Mixed Reality applications - Spring 2017

Mixed Reality applications - Spring 2017
In collaboration with Ericsson's strategic design department we created two mixed reality applications "COCREATION" and "TURNUP". These are considered to be possible by the time of the launch of the 5G network in 2020. This technology-push-project challenged us to find a problem area where the technology could be used to adress macro challenges in the society. We tried to adress the trends of wellbeing and integration.
TURNUP is an augmented pop-up field application concept that allows users to play almost any sport, wherever they are, regardless if they are the right amount of people or not. It augments the lines of the field, obstacles and if necessary even equipment of a chosen sport onto the area that the user has available and can then be manipulated to fit that area perfectly. The main purpose of TURNUP is to lower the threshold for people to get activated and to make sports accessible for everyone.
COCREATION is a mixed reality application concept where users build virtual things together in the real world. The main purpose of COCREATION is to allow for creative collaborations in the city and make interactions with new people fun and effortless. It aims decrease barriers due to language, socioeconomic status or cultural background.
