Monday was created as a personal response to an RMIT University, Melbourne brief, exploring a form of Synethstesia known as "Personification" where numbers, days, months and letters are associated with personalities. The person will remember the days, numbers, months or letters not by their sequences but by the personality that they have associated with it.
Monday is known within society as an evil, slow and painful day. The idea behind the piece was to show a graphic, literal side to the day as well as at the same time giving a visual personality to Monday. It was aimed to portray the way society in a general, views, feels and thinks about Mondays through the collaboration and application of typography, illustration, layout and print design. Therefore creating a schematic, visual identity to the character and personality for the day Monday.
