In this Design & Visual Communications course my class was instructed to design three different magazine covers along with magazine spreads. Two of the covers had to be A design that portrayed a modern magazine that people would buy today; and one of the covers had to have a poster style and older approach to the design elements of that cover. Each cover had to have the same theme and a clear and identifiable masthead, but had to have completely different tones, appearances, and had to direct itself to two different audiences. Along with those covers we had to create at least three different spreads of three different stories mentioned on one of the two modern magazine spreads The theme I chose for my magazine covers was space and the science around NASA and space. To complete this project it took about 20-22 hours. The files that have been included show that the final product I came up with demonstrates achievement. It demonstrates achievement because it showed our class what type of design elements we should be including in magazine type designs; and what works best for magazine styles.
