Megastar Tamer Hosny، and Star Academy’s winner Mohamed Chahine، performed، Thursday evening، the opening ceremony of the 11th University Youth Week، at the Menoufia University Sports Stadium، under the auspices of president of Menoufia University، Dr. Mouawad Khouly.
The-40-year old performed a number of his old and latest songs، amid the attendee of roughly 5،000 university students.
Hosny was keen to grand the wishes of a young girl called “Toka”، who announced a few days ago on Facebook her wishes to sing with Tamer in front of the people of her governorate، who praised her on her talent، despite her young age، and stressed that she deserves support.
Minister of Youth and Sports، Eng. Khaled Abdel Aziz، Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research، Khaled Abdel Ghaffar، Governor of Menoufia، Hisham Abdel Basset، and a number of ministers، heads of universities، and members of the parliament attended the opening ceremony.
Tamer was honored by the President of Menoufia University on being the most successful Egyptian singer to raise the name of Egypt abroad، and expressed his love and respect for the Egyptian Megastar for his great achievements despite to his young age.
The opening ceremony included honoring a number of Egypt's Champions in World Championships، including Rahma Khaled، Olympics swimming champion، Ahmed Adly، world chess champion، Yasmine Hamdi karate champion، and Ahmed Tarek، the world champion in hammer throwing.
This week features a series of sports، cultural، social and scientific competitions among youth of 26 Egyptian universities.
