Nowadays, we eat food which travels many miles and consumes a lot of energy to reach our tables. These long distances causes environmental and health problems. Not only we are physically far from the goods we consume but this distance is also intellectual. In fact, we don’t know how it is produced, we are not exactly aware of the ingredients that composes the food, and actually this is not a real problem for us.
This project is an attempt to bring peoplecloser to food eliminating the intermediaries between supply
and consumer.
The lamp can grow various types of eatable plants within it. The light used by the plant to thrive can be
used in the evening to illuminate the house, making a symbiosis between plant and user. BellaDiNotte
suits for the “extreme” domestic context of the city, where it is more difficult to self-produce food or to reach a farm.
