Mural illustration for an office in Limerick
EY's Limerick team were moving to a new building and they wanted the big curved wall (17 meters x 2.3 meters) to be a bespoke piece. The brief was to capture elements of Limerick culture, EY's internal culture and the connection between local and global teams and clients.
I decided to base my layout on the word Limerick through basic geometric shapes so that it wouldn't be obvious but still present. Then I started to incorporate elements like Georgian buildings, local sports (GAA, Rugby, Soccer), the river of the city and its three bridges, King John's Castle, the fountain in People's Park, O'Connell monument, on the lest side of the wall. This connects to the global side of the wall that includes landmark buildings of some of EY's main connections abroad. The middle section is more abstract and shows stairs to represent people's journey and progression and other graphic elements in a nod to the office culture.
