This part of a 24-sheet atlas of the night sky that I built as a personal project. The most interesting part of this project was developing symbology based upon the star databases that I found. Star symbols in this atlas are colored to correspond with the star's spectral class and sized proportionally to the star's brightness. The atlas contains every star of magnitude 8.0 and brighter, and every star brighter than magnitude 6.0 is labeled with its designation and common name. The atlas also includes deep sky objects, constellation boundaries, and a raster depiction of the Milky Way.
This map was created primarily with the MaPublisher plug-in for Adobe Illustrator, along with a bit of manipulation of starfield images using Adobe Photoshop and Natural Scene Designer.
