Reconciliar Ciudad y Naturaleza

Reconciliar ciudad y naturaleza,
Mario Schjetnan
(To Reconcile Cities and Nature,
Mario Schjetnan)

This book is the first publication about the work of the architect and landscape designer, Mario Schjetnan, that has been made at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
The main concept was decided after an overlook on his work and the union between nature and architecture that exists in every project he is involved in.
It was very important to make it very appealing to the university's main audience: students. Thus, the design elements that we chose were bold and modern, minimal yet rich.
This is a book that distances itself from other publications about Schjetnan’s work, not only in it’s graphic solution, but in it’s materials. Architect Schjetnan usually prefers coated papers and traditional bindings for his books, but for various reasons (our main target included) we proposed an uncoated paper and a different binding that offers the possibility to fully open the book which is perfect to appreciate the drawings, master plans and photographies that this book contains.
One of the characteristics that make this book unique is that we included a hand drawing of each of the 40 projects that we present, but we also used drawings of some projects that are not mentioned on this publication but, that also show how Mario Schjetnan unites and reconciles nature and cities.
