Buwan ng mga Akdang Pinoy is an annual campaign created by Edgar Calabia Samar (Author of Janus Silang series, Alternatibo sa Alternatibong Mundo, Walong Diwata ng Pagkahulog, etc.) to promote all Filipino works and encourage everyone to read and share works by Filipinos for the whole month of August.
This year, he added the 144 ESSENTIAL PINOY WORKS FROM 2006–2017 project, a series of 12 essays by 12 pinoy artists in their respective fields which discusses their essential list that are produced within the last 12 years.
Marsh Mitra and I were commissioned to do the illustrations for each article. We divided the list in half.
