Queen | Felix Pfäffli Workshop | Poster

As part of Felix Pfäffli’s (view website) workshop given at the American University of Beirut in Fall 2015, this is an homage poster honoring the musical career of long-impacting British rock band Queen.
3 people were collaborating on the same project, to which each should present his own input in the process and final outcome.
The Exquisite corpse, also known as exquisite cadaver (from the original French term cadavre exquis) or rotating corpse, is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed.
A method previously used and invented by Surrealists in the Likes of Dali and Andre Breton, the game was then transposed towards the realm of Graphic Design and typography by means of which, each of Ayla kekhia (view website), Chantal Kassarjian (view website)  and I would engage in executing several letters of the British band’s name –while being subjected to Queen’s music–, and then assembling the given unit parts in random compositions or sequence.
In the end the several poster assemblages were obtained each one giving a different insight and reflection on Queen's vibrant Rock de Scène music.
