The life as a monk is not one long struggle against oneself, a life of repentence and wishful thinking a partial or stunted life. It is full of rich and brings an inner tranquility comfort that far surpasses any other kind of comfort.
A monk is a person who practices religious asceticism by monastic living, either alone or with any number of other monks. A monk may be a person who decided to dedicate his life to serving all other living beings, or to be an ascetic who voluntarily chooses to leave mainstream society and live his or her life in prayer and contemplation.
حياة الراهب ليست صراع طويل ضد الذات، بل حياة توبة وتفكير وتمني بحياة جزئية أو كاملة. وهو بذلك غني بتلك المشاعر التي تجلب الراحة والهدوء الداخلي الذي يتجاوز بكثير أي نوع آخر من الراحة
الراهب هو الشخص الذي يمارس الزهد الديني وذلك برهبانية المعيشة، إما وحده أو مع عدد من الرهبان الآخرين. قد يكون الراهب الشخص الذي قرر أن يكرس حياته لخدمة جميع الكائنات الحية الأخرى، أو أن يكون الزاهد الذي يختار طوعاً إلى ترك التيار الرئيسي للمجتمع ويعيش حياته في الصلاة والتأمل
