The 'Meal Ready-To-Eat' (MRE) story displayed military rations that are posted out to service men and women. The theme inspired me to create a 'stamp' stencil using card and paint to place upon the cardboard box. The circular postage stamp also ties in with the theme. The very simplistic layout sets the viewer up for the following pages of monotony and white space.

This story was titled 'Hidden Death'. My design reflects the title through precise ink manipulation. At first glance the title isn't evident, but it is when the light reflects off the page that the words become visible. I created this illusion by using a black ink over a rich black ink, creating different tones.

The 'Consumed' story highlighted the addictive properties of sugar and the main culprit being fast food outlets. I sculpted the title from sugar itself and added a very evident reference to leading fast food chains through my selection of colour.
