The vision for hybrid farming in the future is a complete farming stadium, which is capable of performing both the conventional outdoor farming as well as indoor farming, which is evolving fast. Such hybrid farming scenario erases the natural geological barriers to grow crops. Any crop can be cultivated anywhere irrespective of the specific geological requirements. To cater to all these developments, a tractor needs to be versatile and stand up to the increasing productivity demands.

The concept involves  a tractor that never sleeps. It operates 24x7, during the day as well as the night. It is a fully autonomous tractor capable of carrying out farming operations on its own. While operating at night, it can provide ideal farming conditions for the crop to nurture. With features like multiple implement attachments, parallel lane changing etc. it is able to ensure a healthy farming practice.

The concept of indoor farming has been developing quickly. It is going to affect the way farming is done in the future. The concept of indoor farming is bringing the farms closer to the end user. It also becomes possible to cultivate all kinds of crops anywhere irrespective of any specific geological requirements. Farms in the future will have to perform both indoor and outdoor farming.

Also various other technologies such as Autonomous driving, use of drones, robotics, Augmented reality, Virtual reality have been the driving forces for the future. One cannot rule out these technologies, which makes us think how can these influence the future farming procedure.

The idea involves a fully autonomous self-driving tractor concept. It takes into account all the factors mentioned before to develop an ideal farming equipment. It has been developed taking inspiration from the blue whale. The blue whale is a unique mammal which never loses complete consciousness, even when it sleeps. Taking this as an inspiration the proposed tractor is a concept that works all the time without any rest. It works during the day and even at night. Being autonomous it gives freedom from manual efforts at the farms, thereby resulting in a better health for the farmer. In addition to this the farmer has time which he can invest in maintaining an indoor farm without being bothered about the outdoor farm, which is taken care of by the tractor.

The indoor farms, utilize artificial specially prepared UV lights favorable for crop cultivation. There has been a good amount of research in the recent time, with many innovations taking place. This technology, being the heart of the indoor farming concept can also assist the tractor in improving the operations on the outdoor field. A series of these agriculture friendly UV lights are arranged on the under-body of the tractor. While operating at night, it can provide ideal growth conditions to the area which require extra attention.  The vision is to trap solar energy during the day through the top surface of the tractor and use this energy at night to power these UV lights. This is a great addition to the productivity of the farm as it minimizes the manual efforts and ensures healthy crops.
