Origo Brewing Company

Thanks to the monks, we have what is now known and loved by all: beer. Because of their original practices of fasting, or giving up food for a certain period of time, they began their quest to discover a liquid food that could keep them nourished over their fasting time. The monks also knew weary travelers would stop by on occasion to ask for food and drink. Having little access to either, the need for liquid food became crucial. 

After years of experimenting and reevaluating, the monks finally found a recipe that not only quenched thirst and hunger, but also tasted good. They also discovered an herb, hope, that would make the beer last an incredible amount of time. Origo Brewing Company is proud to support our fellow monks who brought us the beer we know today.
