The Lost & Found is a series of posters which were created for Cubbon Park Metro Station as a part of the Art in Transit(AIT*) project facilitated by Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology in collaboration with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation. The station started operations in early 2016. *AIT is a public art and design initiative that seeks to develop a sense of belonging and dialogue between people and urban spaces in Bangalore.
Upon my visits to the metro station, I realized that the engagement of commuters with the space was frigid and stiff. With a low footfall, it was not particularly busy at any time of the day. Being an underground metro station, the interiors displayed a range of greys: the space lacked warmth and character, and needed an element of play.
On the platforms and in corridors, passengers experience interstices. With the Lost & Found posters, I wanted to fill up these interstices with whimsy and intrigue.
The series consists of 14 posters – seven of them explore ideas and objects that have been lost, and the remaining seven respond to these with something complementary that is found.

As an extension of the project, around 300 posters were also wheat-pasted in Church Street and along M.G. Road in Bangalore in places that allowed coalition between these ideas and the spaces.
