TULLIUS
Tullius is a classicist font which I created with the intention of using the style in another, less serious contex. Furthermore, it should be used to print analogously as moveable wooden letters.
Classicism focused on the recollection of antic greek and roman views of the world, culture and liberal attitude. They questioned the aristocracy, with having the greek democracy in mind. Normally the style of classicist fonts are logical, clear and linear. The font „Tullius“ is carefully trying to break out of these patterns but still to sustain its values. Marcus Tullius Cicero was a roman politician, lawyer, poet and philosopher. His tenets and ideas refer to the elements of the „Stoa“. By choosing a more loose approach to this style of letters, my choice for the name felt on his second name Tullius, which just sounds not that serious as he might was and a bit funny. When working in a analog and experimental way with letters, fun is necessary and the broad design combined with the wood gives the printed letters a characteristic look and charm. I also created a booklet which documentate the process of creation.
