इंडियानामा - an initiative by Animal, bringing 70 artists around the world to come up with their own versions of what India means to them on the occasion of India's 70th Independence day.

In a linguistically diverse nation like ours, language and literature have ever been rich and evolving. This artwork explores India as a land in a parallel universe years ago; transporting the viewer to that point in time. Inspired by science fiction and surrealism influences, the backdrop portrays an extra-terrestrial crystal struck on the surface of the planet. Salient literature references and political events have been highlighted and inscribed on this crystal. These inscriptions are transcribed in various Indian regional languages to highlight the essence and diversity of our nation. The characters in the foreground are intrigued by this device and its message – making them wonder and explore more.
