Adobe MAKEIT - Sunglass Selfie

This is my third Sunglass Selfie illustration created with Adobe Draw on an iPad Pro. The final illustration was inspired by the art I saw while in Australia for the Adobe MAKEIT Conference.
On August 2nd, 2017 I presented a hands on lab session at Adobe MAKEIT in Sydney Australia. Forty attendees were provided iPads and Apple Pencils to follow along with me as I led them in a Sunglass Selfie project using Adobe Capture and Adobe Draw.
There were a bunch of talented attendees who created some great Selfie illustrations of their own.
My own selfie illustration looked like this at the end of the 1.5 hour session.
This was my first visit to Australia. The connection I felt was unexpectedly very strong. The influence of patterned, colorful aboriginal art really spoke to me. I took iPhone photos of these patterns wherever I could, with plans to capture them as Shapes to use in future illustrations.
On my flight home from Australia I revisited the selfie illustration I had started at the conference. I spent several hours of the flight drawing. Most of the time was spent drawing a shirt pattern inspired by the art I saw on my trip.
This iPhone image was converted to a shape with Adobe Capture and then used for the background.
Additional shapes and colors were hand drawn into the background pattern.
An iPhone image of tiled graphics was used to create the pattern in the sunglasses.
Thanks for looking!
