Manual pottery decoration at Manufactory in Bolesławiec is based on a traditional technology and openness to new design trends. The purpose of this project was to design new patterns, involving industrial robot into the decoration process to show how different decorated pottery may look.
ROUNDRAW PATTERN
Stamp imprints are positioned very closely to each other but don’t interfere. This pattern is to be made precisely with robot arm to avoid enamel layers overlapping, as it causes cracks while baking the pottery.
ROUNDRAW TOOL
Same stamp is used for different pattern colors, so the tool is adapted for rotation while attached to robot arm to change the imprint angle when needed. To decrease the border between human and robot, we made an alternative tool, which is also applicable for manual decorating.
