ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership

The principal of Middle School 322, Erica Zigelman has served in the New York City Department of Education for more than three decades. Outside of her work as a principal, Erica Zigelman belongs to numerous professional organizations, including the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), which will hold its Conference on Educational Leadership from October 27 through 29, 2017.

The ASCD Conference on Educational Leadership will take place in Kissimmee, Florida, and will focus on three facets of effective leadership: improving instructional leadership, leveraging resources to improve outcomes, and supporting students and adults to become effective leaders. The event will feature a number of educational sessions, including Ask Them: Why Listening to Our Students Matters, presented by Myron Dueck, vice principal and teacher in School District 67 in British Columbia, Canada.

Other presentations include World-Class Schools, World-Class Leaders: Habits of Highly Effective Leaders, by James H. Stronge, professor at College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and Creating a Vision for 21st Century Education: Impact on Students and Educators, by Ken Kay, chief executive officer of EdLeader21 in Tucson, Arizona.
