But I really love when both is coming together!
I create digital experiences with a seamless interaction between users and products. Mostly along a long termed user centered agile development process. That very often leads to the fact, that final screen designs can’t really reflect my conceptual and strategic work behind the scenes. A lot of this work does not even end in a showable project package at all.

XING Campus

Background.
A high percentage of new XING registrations are students. Research revealed that students often don´t know how they can benefit from such a business platform. They are confronted with a totally different tonality and communication. That leads into a gap between the XING business offers, and the real student needs. To build a bridge between XING and students, XING Campus offers relevant student content and mentoring career orientation.
What i did.
To make XING Campus to more than just a content section on the platform, I worked out an ideal customer journey and turned it into a strategic and long termed product roadmap. Each touchpoint was reworked and adjusted to offer student relevant content and features. That leads into a smooth continuous onboarding of students into the business world of XING. This whole setup was successfully tested in a usertest and iterated. We also made various A/B tests to achieve a great performance and conversion of our new features.

Telekom Puls Tablet

Background.
Especially many older people don`t own a tablet yet. Therefore Telekom Germany offers a very low price tablet to their customers. This android based tablet has a custom branded Android launcher. It comes preinstalled with various telekom tools and services to bring those services closer to a bigger audience.
What I did.
As UX Designer in a large in-house scrum team, I was mainly responsible for all conceptual parts of the product development and also for new innovative solutions. That included a lot wireframing and prototyping of single services and features. An important focus topic was the design of the whole first time usage, which contained a tutorial video for which I created the storyboard. As the target group has not much experience with touch devices, that part was crucial. Our less experienced target group was also the key reason why we tested every single features in street tests each sprint with prototypes or just with printed design versions. After the base version was successfully established, I prepared and moderated two workshops where the whole scrum team worked together on a visionary new version of the tablets interface.a

Background.
Streaming media services are taking over the TV business. TV Spielfilm is a big player in the german market for TV recommendations and TV & Movie streaming. Sunrise is a Swiss telecommunication provider, who also offers a OTT product to their customers. Both services have a high demand to work synchronized along all devices: smartphone, tablet, desktop, TV. And also on all platforms: Web, iOS, android, tvOS and more.
What i did.
I worked on improvements for all services, mostly with wireframes and mockups, close with visual designers and developers. The challenge was always to consider a consistent experience cross all devices and platforms. Especially TV interfaces were a challenge, as navigation possibilities are often very limited. A big major update was tested in a usertest, which I prepared and moderated.

I also like smaller projects like microsites and branded specials which allow a bigger range of creative options. I mostly start with quick sketches to work out the overall rough concept and IA, later prototypes help to work on details and transitions.

Coding is not a part of my job, and I really would never call me a professional developer. I started building my first websites as a teenager and got hooked again after I improved my skills later in university. It is simply fun and is also helpful for my work as an UX Designer. A technical understanding is very helpful to build feasible solutions and to communicate properly with the developers in the team. It is also a nice way to express my "private" creativity as I also do the visual design work for these kind of projects.
Every project requires a different setup.
