The third day of the Queensland 2017 trip was a day trip south of Brisbane to Byron Bay and the Gold Coast.
Byron Bay is the easternmost point of the Australian mainland continent and is also quite popular for its' surf beaches. Byron Bay is about one and a half hours south of Brisbane along the highway and will be the first stop for this report.

About an hour north of Byron Bay is the Gold Coast, another popular Australian tourist destination. The Gold Coast is famous for its distinctive skyline and laid back surf culture.
Making the drive towards Broadbeach, the main surf beach of Gold Coast that is the prime tourist attraction in the area.
