James McNaught's profile

Digital Sketchbook

Over the past few years, I've increasingly realised that, under the pressure and deadlines of professional work, it can be easy to rely on what one already knows as a creative. It's hard to find the time or opportunity to learn new techniques, styles and processes, and as a result, quick fixes become all too tempting.

This insight is what motivated me to begin experimenting with personal work. Unrestrained by deadlines or other people's expectations, I've been able to experiment with abstract ideas and learn new working practices that I hope will enrich my future professional work. Some of the results are shown here, along with unused client work.
