the "stairmaster" is a project that I followed for over one year before I finally startd building the vehicle. Shortly after I started modelling I cam across the aniation movie EMI, wich was produced by the "école supérieure des métiers artistiques (ESMA). I loved the twilight mood and the foggy lighting of the station and set up a similar lighting situation in my Cinema 4D scene.

In Cinema 4D I used a sky object for lighting which is responsible for almost the whole scene. I love the "fog" which can be placed related to the higth and the distance from the camera. But in order to create less regular fog and to ad a more lifely lighting I painted irregular fog over the scene in Photoshop, using a cloud shaped brush at 10-15% opacity.
Many edges are not beveled in Cinema, so of course they don´t catch any light. I knew this and was happy about the tons of polygons I saved by not chamfering the edges, because anyway I planned an overpainting in Photoshop. Most of the painting work is dodging the light areas, but some of it was necessary only for lighting the edges. I love this technique, because it gives a very casual and sketchy look. Ah and... did you notice the brand of the vehicle? It is one of the first De Loreans ever...
