As part of my undergraduate research in NANO (Core for Arts and New Organisms) laboratory, I had to create the visual identity for the 3rd edition of "Hiperorgânicos", which is an International Symposium in Hybridizations and Telematic Art and also a parallel experimentation lab (OpenLab) connected to various centers worldwide.

Taking into account the thematic and also the distributed network definition, I started thinking of a symbol that would aggregate all the ideas behind the experimentations that would take place in the event and the name of the event ("hyperorganics"). Looking into natures designs and live organisms, the one i found that could sum it all up was the ant. The ant is an insect that, like many others, is extremely interdependent and oriented to act as a huge network, but it's shape was what lead me to choose it in spite of bees, to cite a insect with similar behavior. The exoskeleton and thin legs and antennae were perfect to create a pattern similar to a circuit board, connecting it's meaning to the electronics experimentation present at the event. I also decided to integrate it with a tree, since many experiments involve plants and it's a classical symbol of knowledge source.

Concluding the concept part, i was demanded to create: an A3 size poster, an A6 size flyer, a banner for the event place, a mailing image adaptation, a t-shirt image and a certificate.

The final results follows.
