這個作品屬於「美感教科書專案」的⼀部分,目的是期望透過課本的再造,來帶動美學教育,我們在專案中負責的是社會課本的重新設計。我們希望做出一本「跟孩子站在一起的社會課本」,主要的核⼼價值是幫助小朋友更輕鬆愉快地吸收知識,並誘發他們思考與討論。我們透過插畫製造誘因、藉由設計降低吸收⾨門檻。從圖像、圖表設計到編排方式,都以易於理解與學習為主軸去進⾏行,並在其中融入實際⽣活情境,讓學生有代⼊感。此外,小學⽣還在逐步建立獨立思考的能力,因此我們在課本中製造了一些機會,使他們想和課本產⽣互動,讓互動過程成為學習的一部份。

進行設計前,我們透過問卷和電話訪談了一些老師和學生,並分析了國內外教科書,從中觀察到⼀些問題與潛在優勢,也分析出國外教科書轉化資訊的手法,這些資訊都融⼊在我們的設計中。在課本完成後,我們也得到了一些同學的反饋,達到我們原先預設的實⽤、具吸引⼒以及誘發思考等⽬的。

As part of the “Aesthetic Textbooks Project”, this work was made in expectation of better aesthetics in education. Our job was to re-design a social studies textbook that “stands for and stands by children.”
Its core value is to make learning more relaxing for kids and to excite their interest of thinking and discussing. All the illustrations, graphic designs and layouts are carefully put together in a way that helps comprehension. Besides, we’re also devoted to create more interactions between the materials and the users.
We started from interviews with students and teachers via questionnaires and phone calls, and also did plenty research on domestic and overseas textbooks. We put all the findings into our textbook design, and received mostly positive feedbacks from the users and the public.
