This is a redo of an old assignment I did last year.
The assignment was to create a gig poster for a music event featuring three artists of the same genre. I chose to create an event around the genre of Deep House called The Soul Deep Session and the three artists I chose to feature were Mi Casa, Liquid Deep and Black Coffee.
The boombox head character is meant to be a manifestation of the Spirit of Deep House, carrying the essence and traits of the three artists.
The tie and smart casual attire is reminiscent of the lead singer of Mi Casa, J-Something's signature striped tie and clothing. The trumpet being Mo-T's, also in Mi Casa.
The glasses in the pocket are from the artists Ziyon and Ryzor in Liquid Deep.
And finally, the "left hand in the pocket" stance is reminiscent to that of Black Coffee.
