Black Sea Hippocampus T-shirt Illustration

Once I walked around the old town and reached the gate of one of the oldest shipyards of our city.

They were decorated with reliefs of a mythological monster, a horse with wings and fish tail. I decided to Google what is it, and found out that the name of it is Hippocampus or Hippocamp. I really liked this creature, which is a symbol of the sailors and navigation. It is strange that so far it has not been used either in souvenirs or as part of local identification.

I decided to print T-shirts for myself and friends of mine with this cool guy. Since this creature came to us from ancient Greek mythology, I decided to add the inscription Black Sea, but in Greek. It is noteworthy that before the ancient Greeks colonized the lands around Black Sea, they called the Black Sea the Inevitable Sea (Πόντος Aύξενος).
Already after exploration of new lands appears the name Πόντος Εύξενος, Hospitable Sea in translation.
