Java Mur's profile

STRANGERS In PARADISE - Tbilisi - volume IV

We meet in front of Tbilisi Opera House. The first impression of Javad's musical instrument is that it's bigger than himself.
How does such a gentle soul like Javad Javadzadeh carry this large instrument?
"Must be love?!" - I ask, relating as a photographer who thinks of his camera as a part of himself, wondering if Javad feels the same toward his contrabass. He gently dismisses the thought. "This is my job" - he says, "and I love it".  "Very cavalier", I say.
Yet, a little later, as the photo shoot warms up and we sit down for tea just minutes after leaving the bass outside the Georgian tea house, he turns to me and says " I've got to go back outside: otherwise, it's going to miss me".
"Azeri music is the best", says Javad, who is originally from "Land of Fire"- Azerbaijan it self and currently working with Georgian State Symphony Orchestra.
In one of the photos, Javad dives behind his contrabass to pick something up; that shot becomes the highlight of our photo session.
No question about it...By now you can't distinguish between Javad and his magical musical instrument (who is who and who is where). The verdict is out -these two are one.
