Shan Shui World in The Brush
Shan Shui World in the Brush is an interactive installation placed in the museum and gallery. Visualize the force of calligraphy stroke and transform into a landscape painting, the installation provides a new perspective of appreciating Chinese traditional art.
The design process included conceptualization, wireframe, user interface design, and interaction. For the programming, I used openFrameworks to build this installation.
Stroke Force
Use the tablet and stylus to detect the pressure of writing a stroke. The more force you use, the mountain will be higher.
Shan Shui Landscape Painting Effect
After generating the mountain image, the installation will put the gradient ink shade on it, simulating the Chinese painting effect. The planar calligraphy art has transformed into a three-dimension art.
