Astra Stool
When designing the stool, my primary focus was on simplicity, modularity and function.
The process began with hundreds of sketches, continued with couple of 1:2 models. Choosing the right wood for bending and precise, really precise work on each of the six legs later on.
The second biggest challenge after bending wood was gluing whole together in order to obtain a seat. A work painfully precise due to the leveling and matching upper leg "leaves" perfectly, creating a linear star on the top.

A final touch, which is a rope, serves a structural purpose. It holds together all 6 legs, giving the construction stability, but leaving its flexibility. The technology here is much similar to the one used in the building of bridges.

It comes in a color the user prefers. Easy to assemble and dissemble.
This is what takes to bend 1 leg. Tools for bending and drying.
