‘Synergy’ is chair and coathanger, meeting in a synergetic relation. Both are usable on their own, yet fitting perfectly together, especially suited for the home entrance area, blending into their environment. The design is made of screwed metal pipes, allowing to reassemble the pieces, suited for a modern and flexible lifestyle.
Description of the project
Making each other stronger - a valueable quality between family members. Embodying and enforcing the idea of the advanced quality of two: Synergies*. They connect and elevate two objects from the context of one action, while maintaining the independance of each single.
In our ever changing society we have a constant demand for more and newly objects. With shape-dictating trends our homes end up being a cluster of different objects which are not really fitting together. Or we can buy complete sets, often forced, uncreative and standartized. Instead we should consider the bigger picture of our homes and re-think the way the objects we own go together. Synergetic connections offer here an interesting approach: offering freedom to the user through flexibility, acting in space determined reduction purposes.
Synergetic connections can be created by determin related objects of use which are related through an action, context and use. The junctioning of both should not diminish they individual quality, yet enhance together a new one which relates as well to the context in a new and logical way.
*Two indivuals can develop a new strenght or value together, one which exceeds the sum of the strength of each alone.
