Over the years, in school and later, I've come to realize, I really like to play with shapes. Deconstruct them, morph them, subtract from them and all this has resulted in a number of corporate identity projects.
Translating the words into the most simplest form for a lay-man to understand the implied meaning.
Early 2008, this particular options were developed for Sanchar Bharati when they bagged the host broadcasting rights to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, 2010. Playing on the idea of sportsman spirit and the cultural melting pot the Games are, one option was to showcase the Doordarshan logo in the negative of the free spirited arms of technicolor dreams. The sky is the limit!
The other option was derived from the traditional 'warli' paintings of Maharashtra. Negatives of human figurines vibrating around the raw energy of the game.

The following year, 2009, I developed an identity for a Red Dot award winner designed in Bangalore - Abhijit Bansod. Aptly named Abhijit Bansod Designs or Studio ABD, the design house focuses around thought processes and innovative ideas. Taking traditional Indian stories and transforming them into unique quirky design pieces.
2009 also saw the birth of a youth fest at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Chaos Khalbali. Themed around the urban jungle, the restlessness of today's generation, their love for everything fast. Khalbali literally translates into the state of mind of our generation.

That same year, I also developed identity ideas for the Times of India vada pav festival in Mumbai called the Pav Wow Festival. Two ideas, both based on the aesthetics of a typical pav-wala stall in the city. Deriving the shape and colors from the display of vegetables and ingredients around the main 'tawa'.

Another identity project was for Hindustan Pencils, for their then yet to be released geometry sets for kids called Target. Playing on the idea of construction lines, as is required for a geometric figure, I used an industrial font to convey the idea.
One of the more recent identities was to develop one for a corporate gifting ensemble called Lemon Zest. Taking from the idea that a dash of lemon could elevate any dish or that a bit of push could bring the much needed chupataz in an employee's life, I kept the colors simple and the form rounded. Almost inviting the end user, confident and shoulders up high.
In a very narcissistic bent of time, I developed these two identities from my own initials. Hoping to use them on my work someday :)
