David Bowie - Gouache Painting
From a basic outline to filling in the detail; this piece of art was painted on canvas in a monochromatic colour palette. I used many techniques from stippling to fine line making with different paintbrushes, layering the paint until I was happy with the result.
'Mouthy Mancs' - Book Page - Graphic Design

As part of a brief, I was asked to find a Mancunian quote & produce a piece of graphic design that would be featured in a book; 'Mouthy Mancs'.
Firstly, I designed this piece using mixed media techniques such as drawing, painting & collaging. I then scanned my design into Photoshop to tidy up flaws & digitise it. The entire design was inspired by industrial Manchester & 'The Hacienda'.
The hand-made typeface was done in pencil by designing, cutting out, then dabbing screws dipped ink onto the text. I then converted it in Photoshop to a typeface.

Punk - Fineliner pen drawing - Part of 'Anarchy' project
I wanted to create something different that would stand out from the crowd for an exhibition. Most people were using white mounts to display their art. I decided to take the opposite approach by tearing black paper from the wall, using tape to stick most of my work on the wall - & piercing with safety pins. The intention was for my exhibition to have a raw finish to it, defying the typical.
I was using a fine liner pen that was running out of ink for this drawing. It was one of the cheapest pens you can buy at less than £1!
