I created my NIXIN font as the parasite letter of the Univers Next Pro Ultra Light Compressed letter. While creating the font, symmetry was my starting point - with the help of it, I could sort the alphabet into four groups: vertically symmetrical letters, horizontally symmetrical ones, letters symmetrical at 45' and finally the asymmetrical ones. These groups are visually easily separatable, however, because of the symmetry they can still work in a collective system. I redesigned Nixin in a tetragonal shape, considering the unique mirror symmetry quality of the square. I started to become more familiar with palindromes during my research. (Palindromes are words or phrases which read the same backward as forward.)
If we construct texts with Nixin, we are able to create texts where their mirrored form is equivalent to their original form. Along these lines, my font sample book is processing the same content forwards and backwards as well.
