Dark Traditional Photos

Photography Unit Film Darkroom Techniques: I used the darkroom to create old fashion monochromatic photos. I took the photos on the landscape of my school’s outdoor cafeteria, trees background near the school’s outdoor cafeteria, and me in a running motion near the back of the school with the film camera. To create a traditional photo, I used the print machine to copy the film strip onto a photo sheet. First I create a small test strip by dipping the strip into the developer for 60 seconds. Second I washed the strip a bit then dipped it in the refinement for 30 or 60 seconds. Third, I placed the strip in the fixer for ½ minutes. Last, I washed the developed strip in the cold water sink for 6 minutes. I practiced with more and more test strips to improve and create the right toned photo. After I got the values right, I used 2 quarter sheets to create the final photos using the same method in the darkroom. One of the landscape and one of me in running motion.
