This is a short film done with a stop-motion technique. The main concept is the dematerialization of the self. It’s a reflexion on the increasingly virtual world we are living in. People are getting sucked in by their computers and smartphones, and they’re doing this willingly, glorifying the screen, here my own computer serves as a metaphor for all types of screen. The physical world is today much smaller than the digital and the question I make to myself is wether someday we will all be living in solely on a digital land.
The movie was made entirely of digital noises, and I reappropriated the work of music composer Paul Lansky, specifically his work “Idle Chatter” meant to signify an overload of signals, voices that constantly bombard us with information. This is something that is increasingly notorious with our current issues regarding clickbait in the media and fake-news.
