This is a part of a personal project I did for my MA as a response to the brief set by The Partners for the D&AD Student Awards 2011.

'Vital' is a touring art gallery in hospitals all around the UK.

The challenge was to "create the name and brand for the gallery that has the impact to generate positive news, discussion and interest in the concept - building an appreciation of the power of art to connect with people".

Taking into account the nature of a gallery in a hospital and the target audience which consists of patients, hospital staff, local and national press and TV and local artists, vitality is what all these people expect from this brand.

A pulse full of energy communicates the idea of recovering of both health and spirit while the brush stroke endings give a clue for the art nature of the gallery. Warm colours convey the feeling of care - orange being the colour of positivity - while bold italic type adds to the strength of the logo.
