THE SHAPE OF CITIES

THE SHAPE OF CITIES
We illustrate cities through shapes that compose them.
This project has been realized during a workshop organized by the Mohole School in the streets of Strasbourg (FR) on May 2017. The purpose was to get close to the soul of the city, living it and then presenting it graphically. Wandering through the streets of downtown, on some facades we glimpsed some shapes, signs that we found constantly. Actually, every city has a distinctive soul, therefore also graphic signs that characterize them. So, the same proposition could be made for any city of the world. We picked up the signs and we reassembled them on an annual calendar, imaging that every year could be possible to generate a new composition of shapes based on the chosen city. The risograph printing, more substantial than digital printing, seemed to us the best solution to give value to graphic signs that compose the calendar.
