Till Dance do us Part.
For my graduation project “Till Dance do us Part”, I was looking to shoot not just dancers in wedding dresses and suits, but rather two people as they dance their way into their new lives together. You could say marriage is a dance. One where you learn to dance, not on your own, but in
perfect synchronization with your significant other.
The concept for this series rose out of my passion and specialization in wedding photography, an interest and some past experience with photographing dancers, and a desire to inspire wedding dress designers to be more aware of the way they promote their work. I did this by engaging dancers/circus artists and women who were interested enough to let me use their wedding dresses in collaboration with my work.
For the shoot I used 3 flash lights: one backlight, one key light and one fill light. In the post production I tend to let my perfectionism take the lead by fixing the dresses and background. Although I used a backlight for most of the pictures, I had to bring back the black from the suits to not let them disappear in the background.
The pictures were shot with my Nikon D750 and the post production was done with Lightroom and Photoshop.
