For my Junior year final project in Design and Visual Communication we were tasked to create a poster that used a photograph, typographic hierarchy, and a layout. Beyond this we were given complete creative control.
I had decided to take this project as an opportunity to create a poster base around the theme of reduction. To me, society will ruthlessly reduce and eliminate any perceived flaws in a person, until there nothing more then a featureless, mass manufactured plastic shell.
To achieve my goal, I gave visualization to what society already did: I reduced the features of my subject. By reducing the individuality of their face, they quickly melted from a unique character and personality into a hollow, "perfect" canvas.
