Canvas vs. Container

This Series is about trying to fit in; being a stranger in general trying to take on elements from society to fit in. I used a white canvas and placed it in front of shipping containers, and then tried to integrate it with the surrounding by gathering elements from the containers and adding them to the canvas, either by type or digital painting. The idea of a container in itself intrigues me, and I find the contrast of the large container to the smaller container (the canvas, as it is a symbol, to me, or thoughts and ideas) also interests me. A container symbolizes the way we live our life, from a room to a car to an office, it is all a series of containers that with different colors. The white canvas is always isolated, other than the elements it adopts from the environment, nothing bleeds in or out. Bringing the elements from the environment somehow makes them look different and out of context, even though they would be the exact same thing, the fact that it is on a white canvas just brings it to a different level of meaning.
