A fruity tale - work breakdown
A fruity tale was 4 members team short film done in 5 months duration. My role on the film was to manage the project pipeline overall, worked on all the environment cards and compositing of the film. The story was created by me. The project taught me a lot about the production pipeline and it's challenges, importance of individual contribution towards the film and last but not the least how to work better in a team to reach a common goal.
Pre-production work
Initially all the members of the team worked on the pre-production of the film to finalize the designs. The following is what I contributed towards the film's pre-production. A huge thanks to Gabriel Soares for inspiring me and the brush too.
Speed paintings - To realize the initial mood and environment of the forest.
Concept art - To lock the final look and feel of the film.
Production work
Matte paintings - Everything in the film other than the fruit, main tree, axe and character was done in matte painting and placed as cards in Maya to get depth.
Shading and texturing - The basic Shading for the character was done by other team mate and I took over to complete it.
Compositing - stitching up the complete film to get the mood and feel of the film visually right.
