My art work is inspired by the deficient awareness of endanger animals globally and in the UAE, together with my affection of using raw precious metals and materials I created something that is of beauty worn by people as jewelry as an interpretation of how precious animals are. ‘Wear to be aware’ are jewelry pieces that I created stimulated by the origami art of folding paper figures to represent the top endangered animals globally.
Origami has a goal to transform a flat sheet square of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques. My final piece represents a finished sculpture of the endangered animal. The fragility of paper yet casted into a precious metal shaped into a form of an animal that may disappear and become extinct of not looked after.
The presentation of artwork is very unique where the sculpture is set in an environment, a small little world that represents its natural surroundings in a display case portrayed like a hunting trophy, where the animal has already become extinct. This is the path if awareness is not made known publicly to save these animals.
