Qout

Qout is a mock-establishment created by three graphic design students at the American University in Cairo for a Packaging course. While aiming to introduce new packaging solutions to the current difficulties, Qout was established as to create a corporate identity for the problem-solvers. The aim was to choose three crops – which ultimately became Dates, Pomegranates and Beets – and to design new packages for each main crops and their chosen by-products – which ended up being Maamoul and Pomegranate Molasses. Inspired by Egyptian folk art and old Egyptian newspaper ads, Qout aims to take back its users to a different time as well as creating an authentic user-friendly experience – not only through handling, but also in being as visually appealing as possible while remaining simplistic, humble and sustainable.
