Featuring some of the Martian sights in the false colour pictured by Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter HiRISE camera.
What does “false colour” Mean?
"False" colour means that the colour you see in HiRISE images is not the "true" colour human eyes would see on Mars. This is because the HiRISE camera views Mars in a different part of the spectrum than human eyes do. Nevertheless, false colour imagery is extremely valuable because it illuminates the distinction between different materials and textures.
