Poster Designs

This project is based on my Poppy.
These are the posters I created. I used a black background to contrast the bright images and colours I had in each poster. Each poster has a silhouette of my poppy which has been filled with different overlays of his items, such as blankets, carvings, patterns etc. With this project I really focused on adding the Niuean culture into it as that was a big thing with him. I wrote a poem that reflected my feelings towards him
"But in my heart, you still live and will forever be around"
I took each sentence and translated it into Niuean.
These are the final posters for my project.
"Koe Loto Haaku" english translation is "But in my heart"
Red conveys the love and passion he had for me and his entire family and also the love and passion I have for him.
"Moui A Koe" english translation means "You Still Live"
Yellow conveys happiness- he was always happy never once saw him mad or upset and his happiness would reflect onto his family. Yellow also stands for Tuapa which is the village he is from in Niue.
"Moui Tukulagi"  english translation means "will forever be around"
Blue conveys sadness, gloom and heavy hearted. These are the feelings I felt when creating this project. Although I am now at peace and have expressed my emotions, these were the emotions I was feeling at the time of creating these posters. Which now looking back on, I am so proud of!
Thank You
