MFA Work Exhibition

The series Floating Memories reflects the memories in my mind. The content is about my own past experiences in these places. The photos I take are short-term memories, when I am creating a work I recall that moment. The emotions felt at the time I took the photo become a part of the piece. The memories are a little fuzzy, and disordered, but beautiful. As time passes, the memories become fragments, pixels, symbols, and codes… and fade away. Some parts are inaccessible and some disappear. This work attempts to create a space that can inspire the audience to find things using their own imagination. Most of the text in my work is not readable; rather, each letterform is an image, and does not have a clear meaning in relation to the image or other letterforms; it mirrors the ambiguity of memory.
